The Amazon rainforest in its entirety is massive. It is nearly the size of the continental United States and spans nine countries within South America.
Brazil itself accounts for 58% of the Amazon, covering around 420M hectares of land, (1.03B acres) roughly half of which is privately owned, or government non-regulated land.
